Radio Code

I know, I know another radio code thread. But this one is special. As some of you may know, I sold my 98' Prelude. I then looked at another 5th gen Civic in Jacksonville but this one comes without a radio. I bought the Civic no problem for $1800 because I have my old stock Prelude stereo that I would slip into the gaping DIN hole that the civic had. Plug the stereo in, guess what? I need an input code, another problem, the Prelude is long gone. I call Honda and they tell me they need proof of ownership for the Prelude before they can give me a code. Am I screwed? Has anyone had this problem?

Ive never had a problem with gettin the radio code, but I know the guys at the honda dealer. Try callin another honda dealer, any one of them can get it for you, just a matter of them gettin on the computer where each of them is registered.

Call another Honda dealership. Usually this is not a problem. We went into our local dealership with the new radio. They looked it up for us and that's all it took.
