HEY MY RADIO PIONEER 7500 (ABOUT 2 YEARS OLD OR SO) randomly shuts on and off when it wants.
At first i thought that maybe it could be when i draw more power from something else but in the car but it will cut in and out even if the radio is the only thing on.
To confirm that it wasnt teh radio i pluged it into me friends car with the same radio and it worked fine. In turn i plugged his radio into my car and it did tha same thing
So i'm guessing it has to be something with either the power and/or the ground.
I cleaned up the wiring and it got better but started to do teh same thing. So i ran the power and the ground to thier own sourse (power directly off the battery, ground directly off the frame) and it worked better for a while but would still F#$#king cut in and out!!!!
COuld my power and.or ground wires just be rotted out or something?

Is your radio the only electronic thing in your car that randomly powers on and off? When you tested in your friends car, did you guys drive around with your deck installed, or just plugged it in his car sitting in his garage? What did you use to make your connections? Does the face of the deck feel hot?

try checking all the connections behind the deck, your power wire might have come loose

You have an amp attached? My dads does that, but rather the turn back on, juss stays off. It a lose piece on his amp, so he has to turn of the car then back on.

Check your speaker connections. If any of the speaker wires are touching at the speakers or behinde the deck then it will cause the deck to overload. This can also happen if a speaker wire touches ground. Disconnect the speaker connections behinde the deck and power up the deck. If everything is fine then you know what is wrong.

Are you using a smart harness to connect your head unit's wires to the car? Or did you just splice them? If you spliced them it might just be a shoddy connection. If it is using a smart harness check to make sure the harness is pinned correctly.

The problem shouldn't be stemming farther than the wiring to your head unit.
