radio removal

i have a 1999 civic ex 2-door . i have a stock radio but im looking to replace it with an aftermarket radio which i already have . i have the wiring codes from a previous post but i dont know how to take out the stock radio. i tried alot of things but couldnt get it out (or the surround) how do i take it out ??? please post writeups or diy links (prefably pictured links) and also how do i take out the 6x9 speakers in the back, i couldnt get 2 of the 4 screws and i broke the grill tryin to take it out


P.S I dont have the haynes or the chilton manual yet so dont reply that stupid response please. :???:

not sure what's in that pdf, this computer sucks too much so i don't wanna click it... but i'll quickly explain...

u need to remove the driver's side kick panel (or at least the right side of it), then u need to remove the glove box, then u'll be able to unscrew the center console panel... now the upper middle console is hooked in there with clips, just pull it out, unhook your hazard button's cable and u'll be able to easily remove the stock radio (unplug the wiring harness and unplug the antenna). u should be able to figure it out from there.

Dont forget the 4 bolts that hold the actual center console together. Its right after you take out the center accessory panel.

Well, the pdf file is an excellent detailed manual..You should figure everything out just by reading that..

thanks for confirming the contents of the pdf. my box here just doesn't have enough ram to handle adobe reader at the moment lol. well towncarblue should be fine =)
