how in the hell do you mount one? dril it to the bumper?

behind the bumper?

does it even "attach" at all, or kinda hang/float?

i understand it cools the air...fine...how?

is it open to the elements? if it was closed it woudnt mae much sense, but if its open, wouldnt rain get in there?

sorry....i've got too much time on my hands..

1. they have mounting brackets on the intercooler itself, the intercooler is mounted to the bumper support and to the rad support, or atlest mine is.
2. the air the goes through the intercooler is cooled by the air going through the fins. if that makes anysence

werd... to explain #2 better... it works just like a radiator, except instead of radiator fluid flowing thru it to be cooled, its compressed exhaust air. ;)

they have mouting tabs and yes, cold air run through the fins. They're not hard to install at all. I have mine mounted to my traction bar but I only have a side mount. No, it's not open to the elements. The compressed air is locked in there. If it was exposed there would be no boost pressure

ok cool

so the fins are there just to get more surface area and cool better, but it acts as just a layer cooling.......not permeable type cooling

cool!

now...can anyone tell me how exactly your intake comes into play with a turbo?

whenever i see shots of turbo'd engines, i never/hardly see an air filter...where is it at?

can someone just draw me a basic pic of the setup of a turbo? intake, header, intercooler, etc and all?

god i'm a noob....

people usually just put screen mesh on the intake side of the charger... i dont recommend it tho... all u need is like 8" of pipe with a filter to the intake side on the charger.

with the downpipe on the driver's side - your setup might be different, but it at least gives u an idea.
