does anyone have their subs mounted in the rear deck?...i am thinking about getting rid of the speaker box in favor of something mounted in the rear deck...i have no problem fiberglassing the rear deck to make adjustments...i am not sure about the sound reproduction i might get from the back window...

anyone have any pics? ideas? done it?

i just want to get rid of the box in my trunk without losing the bass...

i though about putting a box in the spare tire area...but i think the spare tire is more important...

i dont want to have the "look at me" bass...but i do like bass...i have one 12 right now and am really happy with it...SQ and SPL wise...i wouldnt mind a bump down (no pun intended) to a single ten or two or three 8s...

You got your work cut out for you....literally.

Back in high school, I tried to mount a sub in the rear deck of my Celica. It rattled. No amount of foam could isolate it .

To make matters worse when I took it out, my 6X9s rattled too. :???:

I ended up covering the whole thing in a piece of pegboard covered in black carpet and running two surface mount Pioneers.

I thought it looked great. In retrospect, it was as ugly as a mud fence.

seriously, by some good quality 6x9's, a good quality amp, dynamat the hell outta it and people will think you have subs. I did it in my old civic and people did not believe me until they got in my car, then they changed their mind...haha

got some pioneer 6x9's with 300w max, 40w nomial power....being powered by a pioneer 7700mp in-dash unit...do you guys think it'll sound better than my 15w stockies? or would it be better sounding with a low powered amp???

depends on how many channels you have on your amp? If you are planning to wire the subs then it will take a couple channels depending on how you do it. i am not a pro but i know you can wire your tweeters mids and 6X9's to an amp, if you have enough channels? then you can bridge the amp thats something i don't know much about. When it comes to the wiring of systems i let my homeboy do it. good luck with that back deck that will be a project there.
