Rear speaker issue

I recently bought a 98 Civic DX hatchback. ( LOVE IT !!! )

I've replaced the stock radio with a JVC KDR600, and plan to replace the speakers with Infinity 6022si (fronts) and Infinity 9623i (rears).

Crutchfield website/advisors say that the 9623i will not fit, as it is too tall to allow use of the stock speaker grille. Are there any mods that I can do to the side panel to allow using these speakers?

The tweeters on the infinity reference series do pertrude quite far. I've put then in a few customers cars where the grilles buldged a tiny bit. Why not go with the component set? Tremendously better sound and you can mount the tweeter where ever you please.

Thanks for the quick response.
I like what I've read about the 9623i's and can get them online for a good price.
If I can't find a way to use them, I may consider components.
