I want to turbo cause I'm sick of my friend with a GSR thinking his s**t is so fast....it's stock, and he seriously think's he'll put 2 cars on a 04 GTO thats pushing 550 to the wheels...

What do you think I should go with?

I like this one, but are Ebay kit's worth the trouble?

http://www.revhard.com/turbokit/hypoturbokit.asp?modelyear=9600&model=EK&engine=B

and

I would like the Rev-hard but I have a feeling it's somewhere around 5k.

Any suggestions/comments?

Please no bashing, wanna bash then do it somewhere else.

The blah blah blah was the clutch. I have an ACT Stage 2 Clutch or someshit...

About the kit, even the HKS one is s**t? I believe it was the 1,100, I'm tryin to find a price on the Revhard, but I have a weird feeling its over 4k since it adds ~550 whp, and is a "stage 3 track only turbo"

man you have a lot of research to do... search on this forum about turbo installs, what kind of numbers you want to see/ how much you will have to build the block... ect. read up and soak it in. trust me, you will thank me in the long run.

I know some of my s**t, what I'm looking for is customer reviews, plus, I'm not building the block or head, it's staying stock until it dies, just like it should.

i didnt say nothin bout the hks kit, and it doesnt add 550hp thats what it could handle. and i wouldnt buy kits with "stages" this aint gran turismo. your best bet would be to peice one together.

 I am just looking to get that extra spring, I was gonna just leave the car alone, and save my money and make my downpayment when I turn 18, (08 Si, 08 STi, or something) But now I'm just looking for something cheap and fast.

The 550 was on the Revhard kit.

Horsepower gains are usually in the 550+hp range and gains for torque are about 395 ft/lbs.

Cheap and fast:roll: Like the saying goes, "cheap, fast, and reliable...you can only have 2"
If the only reason your going turbo is to beat your buddies gsr, thats pretty bad. You need to throw up a power goal (not PSI), but a WHP goal. It would be pretty pointless for someone to tell you to get a turbo that can support 600+whp, when you only want 300whp. Thats the only way someone can reccomend to you what setup to do. If you want cheap and fast, you can get the ebay stuff....but dont expect it to last. Some people had awsome time with their ssac turbo, others had them split in 2 after 50 miles. Your gamble.

Also, things to consider is...with whatever WHP goal....will your act clutch support it? Beacuse the hell if i know what a blah blah blah clutch is. Which would just equal more money.

I dont know how you are, but thats what i thought...ill just build the car i have...make it fast and cheap. Well then i went ahead and spent $2k on a swap, then $4k on building my own turbo setup, now building the motor for more boost....it just never ends, and you will NEVER get it back.

not in a million years is a stock B16 going to handle 550 hp

That's why you rebuild when you break it. Why not f**k up the stock s**t first? :D :D

And on swappedcx's comment.... I eventually want in the 450+ range, but depending how I feel when I graduate HS, I'm gonna either build it, or swap a K-Series

Edit: Oh, I forgot, LongGrain, it wouldn't be 550 hp, it is a 550 adder, so it would be close to or over 700, which sounds keeerazy.

dude, not to sound all og and condescending but my primary suggestion is to do some reasearch. Start by finding some one with a build that you like and is putting down numbers similar to what you want to make, then find 4 more like it and then find out what went into each build and why each indivudal part is there. It seem like a lot of research but it will most definatly save you time any money down the road.

Do I believe it....? Yes, it says that on their site, they have the dyno numbers to prove it and if it was false they would be getting sued for false advertisement.

Now, do I think my motor will hold it?

f**k no.

Do I think a normal built dd will hold it?

Hell no.

Do I think a full track car that rebuilds every weekend will hold it?

Probably.

Lol I was just saying, damn, I want it.
