is it a 5-speed civic? Usually for remote starters my family uses DEI stuff... Viper, Python, etc etc... we were gonna get Alpine but that stuff is expensive lol/

Is it a 5 spd? How about none at all?

Sorry, I just can't recommend anything with a manual.

But if you have an AutoSpastic, DEI has served me well.

If its a 5 speed I know Viper and Clifford work.. I have a Clifford alarm system in my car with auto-start... it works well.. my friend has a Viper in his 5-speed.. Both of those are good, you just have to dis-engage the clutch to start it.

Yea it is a 5 speed but a cousin of mine tweeked something and i don't have to hold the clutch to crank now... he also did that to his car b4 installing a remote starter....

its a clutch by-pass that makes the ecu think that the clutch is in so it will crank up the car.

it can be done on a 5speed, but its not recommended... expecailly if other people drive your car, because if you leave it in gear and try to start it, bad things happen. Shops will not install them even with a bypass because of the liabity issues...

DEI is prob one of the tops, well them and compustar, and if your gonna run it on a manual make sure they tie a shock sensor in so it will de-activate it w/ a jolt of the car (i.e leaving it in gear) which is BAD habit to have (which i don't)

Actually leaving the car in gear isnt such a bad habit...If your on a hill in nuetral and your ebrake fails, there goes your car rolling backwars into a tree. Now if you put it in first and your ebrake fails, you avoid disaster. My friends Sentra rolled into a tree, he parked it in his driveway which doesnt even really have much of a slope, and ended up ruining his new cf hood, SE R front bumper, and turn signal because of an ebrake failure.

well thats an obvious situation BUT you can also leave it in neutral and pull the parking brake then simply turn the wheels to the LEFT of the curb (basic drivers ed) so once again i still won't leave my car in gear, plus i always make sure my ebrake is tight and functioning

well yes, you can simply turn the wheel so its sitting against the curb. There are a ton of things you can do, I was just saying leaving the car in gear is not such a terrible idea. Unless of course more than one person drives your car and doesnt realize that you left it in gear

i have a Viper alarm on my 92 hatch, 5 speed. clutch line bypassed and i havent had any problems with it. if you know your car is in gear, why would you autostart it anyways? only fools would do such a thing. no one else drives my car so yeah.

go with compustar.. great range and if u have a manual.. its basically the only company that makes legit remote starts for manuals. as far as i know.. dei dont make any that have a range more then 1/4 mile.. and in the city it cuts it down a lot. i have a compustar rated at 1/2 mile and it does work 1/2. i had a dei 791xv for 4 months and was disappoint in it then i went to compustar

My compustar will also get a true 1/2 mile. They also make one that is longer.
