Removing air compressor belt '96 LX

Hey guys,

New to the site, and after some searching, it seems that the bearing on the air compressor is a common problem. For now, I'm just wanting to take the belt off the air compressor because I don't have the time or money for any extensive repairs.

What I'm wanting to know is if removing the belt for the air compressor will disable anything else. And also if there is a good guide to do so.

Thanks very much.

^ explain what's the problem

Anywho, this picture should be all you need.

If you're going to re-use the belt later and just want to slip it off, I believe you'll need a 10mm or 12mm socket w/ extension to loosen two up-facing bolts that keep the A/C bracket mounted to the car.

You can do this with the driver side tire on, but it can be done easier without it. Take out the 2 mentioned bolts for that bracket/mount, slide the a/c belt through, put the mount back on and bolt it up. I noticed my mount was broken, so I bought a new one and replaced it not much long after when I installed my new A/C belt and pulley (pulled from a 98 CRV)

Thanks! And the problem was the air compressor was making a lot of noise. And I currently don't have the money to replace anything, so I just had to remove the belt.
