ok, well in the process of putting on a new oil pan. I already have the header out of the way, and the pan is unbolted. But right now its hung up on that dust cover/inspection plate at the tranny. My repair manual made no mention of removing the plate, and i dont know what to do!! Can someone help me out??

unbolt the plate and remove it. there should be a couple of bolts and possibly a brace on it.

yeh unbolt the plte, then there will be a few more bolts underneath it for th oil pan, hope you didnt pull to much you can mess up the gasket surface of the oilpan like that
