Replacement engine recommendations

Hey guys. I've got a 98 Civic with a bad d16y7 engine. Yeah, I know, they're probably all bad.
Any recommendations on Internet venders that sell used engines from Japan?
Any I need to steer clear of? Thanks.

did you just want a web address or were you wanting engine recommendations like the title states? what kind of power or mileage are you looking for? the d16y8 and d16z6 make the most hp and the d16y5 gets 40-45 mpg highway

hmotorsonline is the most popular that I know of. I've heard people buy off other sites but I'd be careful. Some of them are sketchy.

Know your state laws though. Some states is illegal to put an older engine into a newer car, wouldn't be able to do a z6 swap if that's the case. Just put a y8 in it, unless you want to seriously change the flavor of the car.

Best way to see what kind of motor swap YOU want is to visit this site longer than the duration of this thread and check out people builds and motor swap threads. Also use wikipedia if you have limited knowledge on the specs of d, b, k, and h motors. I did when i got my first civic and still do.

Okay, I wasn't very clear in my first post. I'm just looking to replace the engine with another d16y7. I'm not ready to get fancy with a build, just trying to get the car back on the road so one of the kids can learn to drive. I'd like to keep it simple for now. I was looking for recommendations as to reputable venders of used engines. There's sure to be someone out there who's had either good or bad experiences. I'll look at hmotorsonline.

Hmotorsonline has a d15, but other than that it will all be bigger engine swaps. Stick with craigslist and local honda forums and just look around. That's what would be best/cheapest imo
