Ok, I'm going nuts. I can't find the part number for the little bulbs that are in 6th gen stock gauge clusters. Hondaautomotiveparts doesn't have it, and Sylvania says it's 194, but THAT'S WRONG. I bought some 194's, and they are the wrong size.

The stock bulbs are smaller, are tube like in shape, and have contact points facing forward with housing that screw onto the cluster's electronic board. The housing causes the contact to touch the traces on the cluster's board which makes the electrical connection. 194's on the other hand, assume you are sticking them in a socket and are much bigger than the little bulbs.

Help?

Ez answer. In my stock 96 Ex, you have one 194 and 5-6 sized 74. I got that info from Autozone believe it or not. The only thing is that autozone won't have (although I'm not really sure cause I didn't ask) the little blue condoms. If you don't use the condoms, the light will have a halogen yellow hue to it.

Thanks!! This REALLY helps.

So... size 74 is for the little bulbs?

And thanks for the HAP link... dunno how I missed it.

Ok... I'll admit, I want new bulbs to change the color. Where can I get different color condoms, or bulbs?

That email for that site looks familiar. I bought some sized 74 superwhites on ebay and they were not even remotly white(more like blue bulbs) and they were not very bright either. Not really satisfied.

Thanks for the site. It looks like the 74's are just bulbs. The stocks are bulbs inside plastic sockets... can you just pull the bulbs out of these sockets or are they 1 piece (don't wanna break em)
