Has anyone ever changed a bad piston rod by draining oil & dropping the oilpan & changing from beneath the engine with it still installed in the car? This is on a 98 Honda Civic EX with a D16Y8 engine.
I've done it before on a Toyota Camry, never on any of my civics. I do have a torn down D16Z6 in my garage though and it looks to me like it could have been done that way. Sorry I don't have exact info, but I wouldn't be afraid to try.
