It's held on by an adhesive. The cloth ceiling is called a headliner by the way. You can find headliner adhesive in auto stores.

Thank you... and is it a special type of Fabric or anything? Also, would I have to remove paneling?

You're welcome.

Here's the information from the '96-'00 Service Manual. I don't have any experience doing this, so there's not really anythign else I think I can help you with.

Oh, if you need any other pages just tell me and I'll look them up and screen print them like I did for those.

 acutally ive done this before because mine was like a grey vinyl material and i wanted black so inistead of painting it i recovered it with black felt...the felt was cheap i think 5 bucks a yard at the fabric store ( Joann Fabrics, AcMoore) and the adhesive i used was 3m 90 super strength...the job itself it soo easy jus cut the fabric to the size u need...a little extra wont hurt because its gonna be on the other side....lay fabric out spray adhesive on headliner and fabric...and allow it about 1-2 minutes to get tacky...then put fabric on headliner...have some sort of rolling pin handy..it helps get out wrinkles..i jus used an iron on low....worked perfect...have a friend help u it will be alot easier...and yes u do have to remove some paneling because there are small plastic screws holding the headliner in place...u also have to remove dome light and visors...hope this helps good luck...post pix when ur done

Okay bought the headliner material...but still to afraid to pull everything down... I've got another boundry to jump... The windshield was leaking in that car near the top and it seems to have cause sag...but its not just the headliner that is sagging its whatever you adhesive it onto...I've since fixed the leaks....it kinda sucks I should take some pics and post them and maybe someone will have an idea what to do... :what: I guess I could pull it all down too and maybe someone would have an idea... actually I think I'm gonna gut the whole car in the morning... something to do...it needs it anyway..

yea gutting is no fun but if ur redoing the interior its easier that way...well anyway they do sell fabric big enough to cover the whole thing...and if ur headliner is ruined go to a junk yard they should be able to help out..and it shouldnt really matter what color or how it looks because ur gonna recover it...hope this helps
