Restoring 5th gen Hatch (EG)

I want to "restore" a 92-95 civic (EG). Ive never done this before, but this is my basic idea... I want to buy an SI or CX shell with minimal body damage, strip it completely, paint everything (exterior, interior, engine bay) and then replace every weatherstrip, headlights and taillights, new glass if it needs it (hopefully it wont), as good looking dash and cluster as i can find, and a driver seat. As for the motor, i want to do a K swap, but for right now, i think i will stick to something cheap and basic. I have an alright amount of money to work with, but i would like to know if anyone who has done this can give me some pointers, price estimates, or any hang-ups i may have.

I didnt post this in the 5th gen section because most of the things i am asking about are just general questions about restoring a civic. Thanks guys!

You have big plans, and they require big money, but you also sound like you are low on experience, especially on the body work side and engine side. An estimate as of shops, So I would guess to restore the body like you want is going to run you about $4500 and the swap is going to run you about 7k. Go buy someone elses car that is getting out of honda's that is k swapped. People do it all the time and get rid of the car for the price of the swap most of the time. Just be patient.
