how do i retard my timing when it comes to turboin.........how many degrees should i retard it?

im runnning 10psi

turn it back a little bit and dont get on it until you hook up a wideband. then go from there.

a good safe starting point is .8-1 degree per psi of boost(your rom editor should have this option)

too much retarded timing can cause damage just as well as too much total timing. too far retarded timing will cause the combustion to take place on the way out of the cylinder when the exhaust valve is open, leading to damage. too much total timing will cause detonation, and possibly kill a piston or break a rod.

you cannont tune timing with a wideband...you need a knock detector, and an EGT gauge helps as well

EGT is the most uncommon gauge people buy when turbo.

but one of the most imporntant, ESPECIALLY when tuning.

true, take it from the diesel guys that modify their trucks. they ALL run pyrometers

neither, through the actual timing maps in the ecu

I see, do adjustable cam gears have any use on a turbocharged car? I actually just picked up a set of Skunk2 Ti series gears for my H22 turbo project.

adjustable gears can benfifit anythime, as long as there tuned right, i bought a set for my DOHC ZC
