rewiring brake lights.

well my brake lights stay on i've changed the switch and i even put a new gromet in it. so i'm looking for a guide or tutorial to rewire my brake lights it's not blowing fuses or anything but just staying on. i'm going to just assume it's a short. if you guys can help me find the short like in a common place or something so i can just fix it there please let me know.

Is it the brake lights, or the running lights? In other words, are they max bright all the time, or are they staying on the dimmer running light brightness? Depending on your answer, that will give you a few places to check first.
