Rewiring Cruise Control...

So Im debating on getting a new steering wheel, though the more I look at my oem one I find myself liking it more and more, but regardless it got me thinking about what i would do with the cruise control. I couldn't find a aftermarket wheel with the cruise control wiring in it, so i took off mine and looked at it a little closer. The wiring is SUPER simple. all you have are two buttons (set and resume) and this is hooked up w 3 wires. basically you can think of it as follows: set and resume are momentary switches, when you press them they go to ground, Both of them are ground on the same line. THATS IT. That is literally all there is to the switches. So if you have an aftermarket steering wheel, and want your cruise control back, the rewire is supper easy, i was also looking at some steering wheels with NOS buttons on them, there are two buttons on the one i was looking at, all you have to do is wire that into the cruise control circuit bord and bam, you have integrated cruise control on your aftermarket steering wheel. this is the wheel i was looking at. Also, let me know any other places in the car you think might be good to place the cruise control.

Those are horn buttons. You don't use a button like that for nitrous (NOS btw is a name brand, like HKS, Skunk2, etc.). Nitrous is activated by a contact switch (eg: when the throttle is opened all the way), a controller that activates it based on RPMs, etc. Using it by pushing a button would actually be pretty dangerous and activating out of no where at high RPMs like the Fast and Furious movies do, you would run the risk of really screwing something up as it would cause the RPMs to sky rocket. The button activation is just movie flash and is completely false.

oh. i just do interior stuff, not very mechanically savvy. But i was actually going to use them as cruise control buttons...not nitrous...sorry if that was confusing. Never knew that about nitrous though, thanks for the info.
