They are heavy and have a high amount of rotating mass making it harder for your car to turn the wheels resulting in a loss of power.
I can't really say much though since I am putting on some 17's today or tomorrow!

imho, too big... tires cost more and they weigh more = more rotational mass

I just got some nice kuhmo's for 50 each online brand new. so they are not always more expensive.

Not where i got'em. there was a special. so it probably was a one time thing. the 15" 50 series were the only ones cheaper and they were only 1 to 10 cheaper a tire.
