RPM signal

im trying to hook up my shift light to the ecu but i dont know what wire it is. can anyone help me out? its a 93 civic SI i got the ECU diagram but i dont know which wire it is. also, i dont wana put it through the firewall to the distributor or anything in the bay

i know some ppl wire it to the back of the gauge cluster... but i dont know how affective that method is. bump for j00!

take your gauge cluster out...there's a connector on the left side looking at the cluster. the only solid blue wire is your tach signal wire. you can tap into that wire.

you can tap right into the RPM from the engine bay and its a whole lot easier than taking out your cluster. I forget what wire it is but i'll let you know later on tonight when i go to check it out.

OK with the 92-95 civic if and only if your not going to be full out racing then you can hook it up to the gauge cluster on the back of the RPM gauge their is 3 screws one has a "-" sign next to it thats the ground or black wire then their one with a "+" thats the hot or red wire and the 3rd screw hasnt got a sign next to it thats the RPM lead or green wire on most shift lights, blue on others. useing this methed the light will light up when you start the car and shut off when the oil light goes off.

well.. i tried the blue wire thing it didnt work for me , so i just said the hell with it. but im sure if you trace the wire back to where the signal is coming from under the cluster you might beable to tap into it at the fuse box or something

just the shift light? or the whole moster tach with shift light...if just the shift light then there is a module or somethin that you have to buy..
