After not hearing anything bad I've heard nothing but bad experences with Emanage as I get closer to my turbo install. So heres where I sit. Sell the E-01 boost controller and emanage system to buy a profec B II boost controller, jumper harness, OBD I ECU, chip the ECU, and street tune for the crome OR keep Emanage and the E-01 and pray that it works.

I've heard 2 seperate stories in the last 2 days. 1. Emanage didnt work at all, kid ate the cost of an AEM EMS to get his car running. 2. Emanage re-set itselft every week, making the car run poorly until he could reload his tuned map back on the system. I've also heard that it just runs like absolute s**t and I'll have more HP if I go with crome... so what do I do?

Thanks!

crome, like any diy efi tuning program, is only as good as the tuner. the same (almost) holds true to the emanage. the emanage is a piggy back, its fine for stock boost, and with the right (costly) programs and upgrades, it can be a mediocre tuning tool. cromepro is one of the best diy efi tuning programs, and well worth the 150 bucks to get it. however, its a diy program. it has a significant learning curve, and requires a lot of other parts to work properly (socketed ecu, obd converter, romulator, chip burner, datalogging cable, wideband), or you need to find a licensed tuner who can do it for you. if you want a shop to hold your hand and tune for you, and have a tech support number for you to call, save your pennies and get a hondata, or get a shop to tune your emanage. if you want to learn efi and are willing to put in hours of time learning the quirks of the software, and risk your car on your own tune, or are willing to drive a long way to go to a private tuner, get crome.

A local guy who runs his own, semi-underground performance shop was going to get me everything for 360 with a street tune using his PLX datalogging wideband. chipped ecu, basemap, tune, and harness. however now that I think about it, if he messes up and something goes wrong, he has no insurence to cover my car... I think I might have to stick with emanage. s**t I dont know what to do... I cant afford a dyno tune at this point as I had to buy my type flex's earlier than I expected. I guess it will be some what of a waiting game to see what comes along.

Keep voting though, BTW, what ecu should I run if I go crome?

you can run any obd1 ecu as long as you get it tuned for your car first. I would recommend if you have vtec get one for vtec, but if you don't have vtec, get one without it.

thats the dumbest s**t i've heard
if you want to tune ...do it right...and wait till you can afford a dyno run...i don't know how expensive dyno runs are where u live but near my place they offer 3 runs for 100 bucks ...and they tune for like 150/hr on a dyno test...so if you read up on ur stuff and sacrifice a good 300 for a nice tune ..you should be fine

Crome all the way to begin with....get ur conversion harness,a nice wideband,a chipped ECU ....then save up the cash to either get it tuned on a dyno or try to tune with a laptop ( not recommended)
but if i where you...i would start reading on tuneing and getting to know the software so when you piece all the s**t together you know what needs to be done

I'm a college student, so I only get to work 3 months a year and most of that money goes towards college. There is only one place I would trust to tune my car, and they are hella expensive! So like I said, a dyno tune is outta my price range right now.
