Running Rich, Carbon Build-up

Ok drove the Civic for a week back and forth to work (well 4 days). I put about 200 miles on it, and went thru almost a 8gal of gas.... So 25miles per gal? Some how that does not sound right, assuming the gage is working fully....

Im ordering a new Fuel Pressure Regulator today (adjustable) and have a gage coming too, so I can see what PSI I am at...
I have a new o2 sensor, no leaks on exhaust, but I do have a Cold Air intake. Would the intake effect it that much?

Also I have a lot of carbon build up. I just wiped it off my rear bumper and muffler. Talking to my dad says to use Sea Foam?
Anyone have experence with Sea Foam? Please share!

Have you done a full ignition system tune up?

CEL codes?

Hey RonJ!

Sorry should have posted that info too...

The whole Distributor was replaced (by prior owner) however with the issues I had getting it started I ended up replacing the Distributor Cap, Distributor Rotor, and put in a Accel Coil. New Wires and AGK Plugs. I have also adjusted the ignition timing to be correct.

No CEL codes. But the CEL does work (one of the few things that did when I got the car)

I was running super rich, I went and got NGK V power plugs, tried 3 other kinds didn't help, and I changed the thermastat, I gotta jdm b16a second gen and the thermastat I ordered I got for a 1993 del sol and it fit. the old one opened but it took almost twice as logn for it to open and for it to close compared to the new one, tested them in boiling water, after doing that My running rich issue and spark plugs fouling carboning up, went away, for the time being, also make sure your MAF sensor vacum line is not leaking and where it goes onto the sensor make sure it's tight and Id put a clamp or somethign on it to keep a seal, If I remove that vacum line even for a second all 4 plugs will be carbed up so check that. Could also be an injector stuck open, I cant remember how we tested it exactuly but we pretty much removed the injectors and then turned the key to where the fuel pressure would prime and if any fuel shouts out of any of them they are stuck open or leaking.
