i am turbing my 96 civic with a b16a swap, i was going to go ahead and plug my chipped ecu in, because my vtec would kick in at 4500 rpms and not 5500, it is hondata ready and i plugged my hondata in to, and my cars idle sounds like a camed v8, and the smell from my exhaust smells like i have racing gas, what do i need to do.

Sounds like u need to geur car tuned. Sounds like the chip thats in ur ecu is tune for smaller injectors which would make bigger injector stay open longer. Or it could just be a bad tune. Find a shop that is able to tune Hondata and GIt Er Dun!!! LOL!! Ur car prolly wont like the 4500 vtec point either, seems a bit too low. If u have a small turbo it might be perfect when tuned prooperly. L8er and good luck

yea i have a t3 turbonetics kit, so my computer needs to be tuned for my injectors, oh and my hondata box has a red light in it and it was flashing on and off, and i dont have my turbo on yet i was just going to go ahead and plug my ecu in for the vtec spot.

I would plug your stock ecu back in with stock injectors. Then wait untill you are ready to get tuned to put in the chipped ecu and bigger injectors. I am assuming that is what you are going to do.
