Running speaker wires into the doors

I need to run two sets of speaker wires into the front doors of my 1994 4-door Civic. What's the best way to approach this? Should I completely remove the plastic plugs or somehow remove them and drill into them? Also, the doors don't open far enough to get at the plugs in any case. So do I need to take them off the hinges? Thanks.

i have the same car,,,but its been so long ago. i was thinking i ran them thru the factory rubber hose harness that runs from the door to the car. i just removed some unneeded old speaker wiring to save room and fished it thru. someone please correct me if im wrong.
