i found some DIY articles, but there are some confusing things....

First of all...what is a relay for? (safety?) And is it ghetto when i don't use one...:p

I dont understand the diagrams they use, and it's even more confusing when they use different setups in each article.

Are these setups acting the same>?

Well, if you have a S2000 starter button in your possession you'l notice the wires are very small gauge.
The current demand through that switch would fry the switch in a short amount of time. The relay will respond to the small amount of current and close the circuit for a larger amount (ie: your starter)

You might want to do a little 12V electrical study work before you hack into your harness. I'm not trying to be an ass. I just don't know of an easier way to explain it than just drawing out a diagram like the ones above

well, i only understand this one...

But other sites switched pin 30 as ground and 85 as 12v. Does that matter?

when I use a relay, 87 and 30 typically complete the circuit. 86 is + and 85 is -. when + is applied to 86 it completes the circuit between 87 and 30.

but in this case there truly are many ways to skin this cat

yeah, that's why it confuses me.

I'm planning to do this setup... tell me if it will work or not...
or corect me.

Cigarette lighter power wired to startbutton pin 2
Ground - to pin 3

85- wired to the startbutton pin 1
86- ground

30- constant 12v wire
87- starter wire (blk/wht)

While using this setup... i still need to turn my key into ON, and then press the button to start the car right?

I would tap the accesory wire (usually black/yellow) to relay30 and to the switch, tap the starter wire to relay87 and leave the starter wire intact so it would still start the vehicle with the key

Theres mine installed, i realise thats not S2000 button but it was hella cheaper, and im gettin the S2000 Button cover and im going to make it flush with the dash, i relocate my hazards to my left side of my steering wheel where those pull outs are, this was much easier to install 2:P

i like it on the left, because the S2k has it on the left too =) And there was more than enough space for me to put it there. Also, it was a plate because i dont have the dimmer or cruisecontrol. So if i f**k it up, i can buy this thingie for $1. Anyway, i'm planning to stick some carbon fiber decals around it and some other places at my dashboard so it looks better.

You're not the only one who is calling it a CTR wheel. To be honest It's not a CTR wheel, it;s a DIY!!!!! Just used some red paint and painted the H on my steeringwheel! bawahahahaha 8)

My car is EDM 96-98 , not USDM.
It's OEM, and i didn't change the steeringwheel.

I want a wheel like his, it would match my lt grey interior, plus my OEM wheel is chewed up cause of the careless woman who owned it before me

yeah it looks almost identical to the CTR one. The differences i see, is the colour and missing the real MOMO leather and logo.
