go to seafoam.com
I have done it to ALL of my car EXCEPT my girls '99 Civic EX. Best way is to take a vacuum line leading to the upper intake or TB off. Start car and get it up to operating temp. Drop vacuum line leading to upper intake or TB into bowl of 1/2 a can of Seafoam. us you had to rev engine till all seafoam is gone, then QUICKLY shut off engine. Let sit for five min. or more. Then fire it up and take it to read line every gear watch pepole behind you choke on CRAZY white smoke coming out of your ride.2kstreetcivic said:can some one do a write up, perferably with picture on how to use seafoam on 6th gens???..thanks
thanks man..that helps alot......I was just a little uneasy about putting liquid into my engine..hahaShiznit said:Step 1: warm your car up
Step 2: locate the brake booster line.
Step 3: unplug the end of the hose attached to the brake master cylinder (i think thats what that round thing is called)
the hose looks like this
Step 4: take half of your seafoam and pour it into a see through cup that can hold the entire contents
Step 5: if your car isnt running, turn it on. now very slowly dip the hose that you just disconnected into the see through cup. when your car is about to die pull the hose out untill its running smooth again. do this till your done with half of the bottle
Step 6: turn your car off
Step 7: pour the rest of the contents into your gas tank
Step 8: play a game of party poker or until 5-10 minutes have passed
Step 9: turn your car on and let it idle for a minute
Step 10: take your car for a spin and hit WOT (wide open throttle) until the white smoke stops comming out of your exhaust and where ever else it may be comming from
Step 11: if you threw a CEL disconnect your negative battery cable for a minute or so then reconnect it.
Step 12: enjoy the new steady idle and increased throttle response
EDIT: during step 5 you may notice your RPM climb to 3k and drop to 1k and it may happen over and over again, never fear thats normal because of the vacuum hose you just pulled. youll notice if you cover the vacuum hose with your finger your car will drop to idle
hope that helps
