I have no clue, any help on how to do it myself would be cool, i disconnected the battery for 25 or so min and that - of course- didnt do anything, so yeah thats it thanks...

(Ref. Owner's Manual pages 67-68) The maintenance required light in our dash is a reminder to bring the car in for scheduled maintenance (every 10,000 miles). The light will flash after start up for 10 seconds once you are 2000 miles from the car's scheduled maintenance. Once you pass the scheduled maintencance mark (every 10,000 miles) without having the maintenanced performed and/or the light reset by the dealer, it will remain on forever unless reset. To reset it yourself, press and hold down the odometer button as you start your car. Continue holding it for 10 seconds and the light will reset itself. You DO NOT have to take the car in for it to be reset. Scheduled maintenance is like oil/filter changes, belts, etc. Look in your owner's manual (pages 194-198).

i just took my 04 ex in for one of those scheduled maintenance (see side note) and that light came on...it's just a reminder light, no reason to get worked up...just letting you know it's about time for a checkup is all

Note: why is it that labor costs at the dealer are so f@cking high...it's highway robbery...out of a 300 dollar bill for servicing, 215 bucks was for labor...WTF?...damn thing only took like 2 hours...is there some flat rate regardless of time for scheduled maintenances or something??

signed,

Never taking my car in for maintenace again unless something is really broke and not even then if it's my fault

i have a 7th gen and it does have the button!!!
"the button"??? first of all the last few posts wouldnt have HELPED me, but since this post is old, and it has already been fixed...., ie you should read all the posts before posting...
then what button are you referring to?7th gen civics have only an odometer trip button. if you are referring to the buttons that the 6th gen civics have that you slide your key into to reset, im sure you donot have one...because as you stated you have a 7th gen.... man this post was very resurected by dumb non readers...

calm down bro. I think he was referring to that as a button seeing as it is what you use to reset the light. Anyway, it's over now. Just try to be a little more understanding in the future.
