sedan lowering questions

Hey, so I had a couple of questions that I couldn't decide on, so I thought I'd ask for opinions. I recently bought a 98 ek four door, and it came with broken eBay sleeves. I plan on buying new shocks and lowering springs. I really don't want any wheel gap, but I understand I can't be to picky on height since I'm not buying coilovers. Keep in mind I have 17s. What type of shock/strut would you use, and how low should I go? I love being slammed, but I live in Idaho :???:

I don't really have a "shock/strut" combo, but I do recommend getting smaller rims if you wanna be lower. 17's at stock height will give you tire scrape, let alone having it lower than stock. Im lowered on 15's and 16's should really be the biggest you should go for an ek. just my 2 cents. good luck!

When I had my 98 sedan I had GC/koni combo. I was also running 17's. I couldn't go very low because the tires would scrape. I didn't have any gap. If I would've rolled my fenders I could've gone a little lower. You can do it just expect a harsh ride.
