Sensors Ex 1996?

I'm going to buy a 1996 civic ex for $2500 everything is stock except a cold air intake it has 139xxx miles the guy said everything runs good except it wont pass the smog test because of some sensors. One of them Was the speed sensor so how much do you guys think it will cost to fix like 2 or 3 sensors and is this a good deal? My uncle can install the sensors I'm just looking to buy them.

Most of the bigger places you go that do testing will be more strict on smog testing than smaller mom and pop shops...

Ex. Big Box Smog Shop = $90 to test and if it doesn't pass, you don't get your cash back...

Mom and pop smog shop...if it doesn't pass, you don't pay...

ACtually the speed sensor is real easy to fix, in fact i have an extra if you want it.

Why would you assume that the previous owner actually knows what the problem is or is telling the truth? Have you done ANY troubleshooting yourself before you start replacing parts at random?

What CEL codes are thrown?

Does the engine run well or are there some problems?

Becase he said he took it to get a smog test, but it failed due to the speed sensor and he said another Sensor i would assume it is the o2 sensor and yes he said everything else is good besides those two sensors. And also im going to go check the car out before I buy it, I'm not stupid.

Sellers say a lot of things that aren't true. Only believe them when you can verify. Just sayin'.

When you actually know what the problems are, then post them.
