What's involved in doing this? Is it just yanking the antenna and the little plastic cover piece, or is there bodywork involved?

u can replace it with a little black plastic piece or u will need to do some metal work and fill the hole in the body. its the cheap or the good way.

does somebody make a cap for it or are you supposed to do that urself?

theres some websites taht have the cap for sale too i dont think its more then $20, its just a little black piece of plastic with a sealer underneath and the plastic looks like the base part of your antenna

nice little add on IMO

You can get this internal antenna that goes on the top of your windsheild or under the headliner. its not that big and its out of your way. and the best part about them is that you can get the amplified ones. you can get them at like circuit city or best buy stores for like 30 bucks. 60 bucks with installation i think. definatly the right way to do it with no headaches later in the future.

there's also antennas that are like a piece of tape that go on a window, I have that on my mom's Volvo.
