Shift boot for short shifter

My shift boot collar, for example, sits just above the cut out for the shifter and since i have a stock boot it has created a deep ugly pocket that seems to only collect dust and dirt. anyone know where i can find a shofter shift boot or has anyone customized theirs to fit/look better with a short shifter?

guess my post was pretty misleading so i will clarify what i was asking. the shift boot collar has no problem staying up, its the fact that there is so much excess boot that it sags down in the cut out for the shifter too much. I want it so there is less length in the shift boot so it looks better and doesnt have such a deep pocket around the shifter. i want it to look cleaner around the shifter. thanks for taking the time to find that thread though.

mine gets dirty all the time with dust and etc, i just try and keep the dust down by cleaning it with clothes, every month or so i get bored and take the boot off the console to clean it more thoroughly. hope it works for u.

What i did was take off the shift boot, cut some off the top (the handle end of the boot), and put it right back on. That should do the trick. Basically just cut off the excess.

if you cut some off from the top the diameter of hole for the collar would be way too big right? i want to know if there are any aftermarket shift boots you can buy that are made for short shifters or if anyone has a DIY or has pics of their own that they have redone to accomidate a short shifter. example: un stitching the boot, cutting excess material and then restitching it to look like stock but shorter and still be able to use the collar. when i said clean before, i meant a clean look to it, rather than looking at the shift boot and noticing right away that it wasnt made for that length of shifter.

i havent seen anything like that but if u do let us know.

u can always remove the center console, then carpet and have the rubber boot thing lol but thats a little excessive.

not that it matters, but i've seen boots made of the crown royal bag, beanies, and various materials that can be stretched.

i think i might try it myself. although ill buy a cheap ebay shift boot to customize and see how that goes. if its easy enough to stitch by myself then ill put up a DIY. anyone know where to get some decent cheap shift boots, or what ebay seller to buy them from?

When mugen release's their short shifter for the Fit i paln on getting that, along with their shift boot, however i don't think i'll find anything boot as how you want, since they don't sell barely d**k for the Fit as is, lol.
