the shift knob unscrews easily.

the center console must be taken out to install the boot.
there are like six screws on the sides of the console that need to be taken out and then the plastic is easily just lifted out.

flip over one of the pieces and you'll see that the only thing holding the boot in place is two screws.
unscrew it, take the old boot off of the 'razor-edged locks,' and slip the new one on.
I say 'razor-edged' because they're sharp as s**t, so be careful.

installed a ctr boot/shortshifter/knob 2 weeks ago. Very easy... for the boot you would only need a phillip screwdriver. i bought the ek9 one, fits perfectly

Want stock look but REAL leather boot?

My girls '99 EX sedan has a 5-speed the boot has a hole in it in the front so I want to replace it with a REAL LEATHER ONE. Where can a get a Black leather shift boot for cheap? All the ones I saw have red or blue stiching :x ! The stock one was made of some plastic crap!
