Shift Boot on an Auto?

I am tired of looking at the boring base of the shifter on my 99 EX auto and was hoping to change the look. I have seen some M3 style shifters for autos, but they are too expensive and too flashy for my liking.....Does anyone know if a manual shift boot would work on an auto? If so, does anyone know where to get an OEM style boot that includes the mounting brackets? I have seen the type-r ones on ebay (which do include the mounting brackets), but I am not a fan of the red stiching since nothing else in my car is red.

Just get any boot you like then unscrew and lift up the piece of the console around the shifter base, shove it all in there so it fits nice and screw it back down...i have done it before...

what makes you think he's trying to pass his car off as a manual car? i've got one on mine just because that panel is ugly and besides, the gear lights are in the cluster.

OP, just get a oem black boot off a civic and stick that on there if you dont like the ctr boot..

if you want the itr ones have yellow stiching if that color better suits ur car. or just get a usdm one

ike i said.. i have done my i the past, and if you search my posts you can find pics....
imo a regular boot would of and did look stupid, so an extra large boot was used so it gives a better effect.
