chances are it has set screws in it. there should be a lower part that youll need to remove (unscrew it) then there will be three small hex set screws. back them out and then pull it off.

get a hammer....and hit yourself in the head with it.

if that doesnt work, beat the shift knob off of the shifter.

Get out a allen wrench set...thats how universal knobs are held on. Usually the base of the knob will unscrew to reveal the bolts you need to take out.

Any more unhelpful posts will get an infraction.

Try me.

Take a picture of it and post it here, does it look like the knob could possibly unscrew in half like a top piece comes? Hard to tell without knowing what the shift knob actually looks like.

/\ Not to get off topic, but Genuine Rolla, I sent you a PM about a week ago about buying an ipod.

are you serious? he's having problems taking a shift knob off.
dude, its like he put it there. he trying to figure out something he didnt do himself. excuse him for being human. and dont act like your s**t dont stink. we have ALL been there that we cant figure out something that seemd simplistic!.

Anyways, yea, usually theres an small allen screw at the base that keeps it on. all else fails, just crack it. not like you really want to keep it right?

Well I got the knob off today and found out my problem. The previous owner had JB welded the thing together where it shouild unscrew it because he had broken the set srew part of the base and he had f**ked up the shifter itself by trying to drill through it for whatever reason. Which is unknown to me. Oh well live and learn lol, I feel like a tard for having a problem with this but oh well. Anyway thanks to those who posted helpful ideas.
