just curious at what RPM most or any have their tach (if you have one) set at for the shift light to activate? it's a autometer tach so it's not the stock one.
Where else would it go?MySiIzFaster said:Im just going to guess and say a SMIDGE before redline.......
And why is this in the Audio/Electronics section????
it's extremely handy, i set mine about 300rpm below redline... just enough time for me to shift before i hit redline.Eran said:people need a shiftlight?
I still don't know where I'd put one without it looking teh rice.$lick Rick said:it's extremely handy, i set mine about 300rpm below redline... just enough time for me to shift before i hit redline.
it helps you keep your eyes on the road and is extremely nice for things like autox where you keep your car in the higher rpm range without hitting rev limiter and still pay strong attention to the course
your car redlines at 350 rpm right? haha$lick Rick said:it's extremely handy, i set mine about 300rpm below redline... just enough time for me to shift before i hit redline.

hes saying 300 lower than the redline number.. whatever it may be on any given car.. i agree.. i have one and mines set a little lower than that.. i really like having it.. as stated.. it tells you EXACTLY when to shift every time..mymmeryloss said:your car redlines at 350 rpm right? haha

my steering wheel blocks my view of the top of the oem tach.radarblips said:The only reason I have one is because I've always wanted a tach, but I barely use it. I look at the stock tach more.
Same here, I sit high with the steering wheel all the way down so it blocks my view of the cluster, but it feels weird to look to the side at my autometer than to just look down at the stock tach.$lick Rick said:my steering wheel blocks my view of the top of the oem tach.
and i had this autometer tach and shiftlight lying around amongst my piles of shiz i need to sell..... so i put it on
Some people don't have stock tachs.....X-aCuTiOnA said:I juss use the stock tach. If anything, juss buy a shift light. This way you dont have a second bulgy tach, but you still get the light when you need to shift.
