Shift Points????

So this is probably a stupid question but I have to ask it because AI just don't know. When exactly am I suspposed to shift gears in the 98 civic ex coupe? I just got the car about 4 days ago and have been shifting whenever I get to about 3000 rpm, is this about right? I haven't drove a manual for about 6 years so I am way rusty, but I've never driven a civic. So I if you guys could help me out that would be awesome. Thanks.

Id shift closer to 4K, but your engine makes power up to 6600 RPM and has no problem going that high..

Obviously when goig up hills you will want to shift in higher RPM's and not shift too low as to bog.

Daily driiving, i shift at 3k which is 4th gear at 40. I don't go into 5th until 50, or flat. Little 4bangers don't make it up hill too well, so you might need to downshift a few.

3k would give you better gas mileage, generally what i would go with daily driving
