Where and what are you guys using for shifter bushings? I was reading that they are made of metal and give a nicer feel to shifting. Also, can someone point me to a set for my 2000 EX? I know there is ebay, but for some reason i would rather buy a tested and true product over something cheap. However, i didnt find much info on installing them...if anyone could point me to something that shows them, that would be AWESOME.

I'm using polyurethane bushing. It was like 9 or 10$ on ebay shipped. I love them, you wont be disappointed. I think the name of them where Energy bushings.

could you be more specific as to how they compare to stock bushings or metal ones? Just curious, would like to know more info before i buy them.

Also, anyone seen a DIY to put these in? (pics would ROCK)

Just looking at the ES bushing kit and its only 2 pieces? I thought it was more then that hehe.

nope just two pieces.. here is a comparison

stock - smushy lame soft rubber so makes the gear changing mushy and difficult.. (good for comfort econobox car absorbs a lot of vibration making the shifter vibrate very little)

ES or other poly bushings - harder more precise feel (not as soft so vibrates more)

metal (never heard of it ona civic) - obviously MUCH harder.. creating LOTS of vibration but also very precise shifting..

as the bushing gets harder.. the ability to find the gear easier increases... less mush ='s IMO more precise shifting..

yep same goes here...the difference is very noticable bro, the shifter seems more accurate and stable when you shift. Though after a while you dont really notice the difference anymore haha....its a good cheap upgrade...

awesome, again just what i needed, thanks guys. How long do they take to wear out?

just looking at it, i really dont even need to remove my whole shifter....just get under the car right? I see where the 2 peices go through.

The DIY up above to me is way to many steps. But if you want to follow it i guess you can. Ive had mine for about 8 months and it still feels like when i got them in.

ya , it looked like it was a bit to much, but they installing the shifter itself. I would just prob do the just the kit, maybe take the console off and get some grease on the ball joint piece.

This is what i ended up buying....just to confirm, i dont need to take out my whole shifter to do this right? I just need to get under my car and remove the screws holding the bushing in place right?

Billy.
