Short ram intake or full Cold air intake-which is better

I currently have a short ram intake on my car, my friend said it would be better to get a full intake to help with heat once the car has been driving for a while and also heat soak. Should I just stick with my short ram or would it be better to get a full cold air intake and risk hydro locking

if you already have the short ram i personally wouldnt buy another intake just to switch to a full cold air setup.
i love my sri.
