That link is one of the better DIY's.
As you can see you will need to get under the car and i would recommend doing the bushings while youre at it. I want to say it took me about 40 min to do and that was because i used WD40 to get some bolts off so i was waiting. After i got them off i let them soak in CLR which is what i'll forever use from now on.
Best of luck with the install. If you were local i'd give you a hand but its pretty easy. Have fun with the new short shifter.

Any particular kit outshines the others?

Are there better aftermarket shift bushings than stock?
I personally think skunk2 knob/shifter combo is the best one out there.

Also, it's extremely easy to install. Get under your car and look at it and you'll kick yourself for seeing how easy it is.

any polyuerathane bushings will do. i recommend the energy suspension ones because i have them and i like them. plus they are extremely affordable.

Energy suspension bushings are the most popular. Post before and after pics when you do it!

10 seconds of google got me this link...

This DIY is fine EXCEPT for the part that they have you removing the complete shift linkage assembly from the car. That is a massive waste of time and it can be a major pain in the a$$. There's a reason why that pin through the shift rod is nick named the "b***h pin". Skip that part, do everything else in the DIY and you'll be fine.

The Energy Suspension shifter bushings are good and they are pretty cheap. Might as well do it while you're under there.

x2

There is NO need to completely pull the linkage AT ALL.

Hmmm. Worst problem I had was removing
1 bolt to free the shifter and I pulled the whole shift linkage. Guess I got lucky.
I think they show removal of it for ease of bushing instal, isn't it?

The b***h pin isn't a b***h if you have the Honda punch that is designed to tap that pin out...

Takes 4 seconds to remove the "b***h" pin if you don't mind spending $20 on the tool.

It's been over a year since I did it so I don't remember if it was or not. Is that B**** pin in every car including B series or just D series? I just don't remember having any trouble removing anything at all except the one rusty bolt. If it is also found in B series then it was there but was easy to take out.
And yeah the whole linkage came out. It was really easy to replace the bushings that way.
