What I use it for:
Im no sound junky. But I do love listening to music. Boss is a cheap brand but I have been surprised at the quality of the sound. The front speakers did not fit like oem, They stick out about 1/4 of an inch from oem speck, but its no big deal. I don't run any amps or subs because I don't listen to any hard rap...mostly just alternative and indie rock. IMO you don't need a sub if you have decent rear speakers, for me this system works great.
Negatives:
-Had to re-solder connections on both back speakers after a few months, just came lose and started causing audio static, but fixed em myself and now they work great.
-Front speakers dont fit like oem, but they are very secure and cover goes on easy still
