Si coupe vs sedan performance wise

Hello, everybody. I'm new to these forums, but I'm excited to ask questions and whatnot. So, I'm ready to move forward in the driving world and get a civic. I'm totally in love with the 8th generation interior of the Si. Also, I've always wanted to learn how to drive a manual. My question is, what car will perform better in the long run? I know they're both almost equal stock, but is one easier to upgrade down the road than the other? This car is just for me, so I'm not really worried too much about the 4-door VS 2-door thing. However, I DO know that the coupe weighs about 58 lbs less. I don't know if it will make it a few miliseconds slower or not...

also, a friend told me NEVER race a civic off the line. It will tear up the engine. Is that true?

thanks a lot.

There will be no difference in mods available. Both equal in upgradables(things you can upgrade).

Racing off the line with any street production car is bad for the engine, but not as bad as you probably think. It will tear up the engine, if your sissy shifting and doing horrible at driving. Sorry to say, but your friend is an idiot.

Would having a sedan slow it down if you ever decided to race it? Like for example, if an Si sedan and coupe we racing side by side, would the couple win because of the weight difference?

just little things I'm curious about. thanks
