I'm picking up a 96 SI hatch in two weeks and I was wondering if anyone has ever swapped the front end of an SI onto a hatch? I've seen it done on the coupes and it looks great! but can it be done on the hatch? Just looking for options of what I can do to it.

yea it can be done-- its the same front as the 96 coupes--u have to change the radiator support to make the 99-00 si front fit

I think it's ###EG##........
btw, I think I've been owned. lol it has an SI badge on it and a b16a in it so I think the person who owned it before me made it an "si"

your confusing the hell outta me lol-- if the VIN says EG thats a 92-95 model not 96...
96-00 hatches are the EK and the coupes are EJ
there is a 92-95 SI hatch but not a 96-00

sounds to me like the person who owned it b4 you dropped a 99-00 si motor in a 92-95 si body and thats what you have now--does that sound right to you??

unless of course you have a canadian model SI which came out in 96 but those came with an EX motor and i dont even know if they came out with a hatch model i think they only made coupes---then again u said ur VIN is EG so that would mean its def not a 96-00

got any pics of the car??

ok, I'm flying out to cali on the 15th to pick it up. He told me it was a 96 hatch. Then I asked him what the trim was and he said that there was an SI badge on the car so I didn't think they made Si hatches so I asked him if it had a tach and he said it did. and so I asked him to read off the vin# and I cought the EG part of it. Isn't EG JDM? I REALLY hope that it is a 5th gen! I like 5th gens better anyway. I'm going to call him and see what year it really is. (what it says on the title to the car)

I got the car for $300. A friend of mine picked it up for me. The guy selling it didn't know it had a swap so I guess that's why it was so cheap plus it had a blow head gasket. My friend fixed that so I got my plane ticket for $117! so all said and done, it'll cost me less than $700 to get the car to St. Louis. My firend is suppose to take pictures of it. I don't really care, I got the thing for $300! and I trust him when he says it's in great shape.

get the VIN number and run a carfax report and find out wut the f**k it is lol--- the EG's arent necassarily JDM -- usdm and jdm 5th gens are both eg's--its the number after the eg that makes the difference
