side/door molding

Does anyone know if other civic models door trim will fit on the 5th gen civics? I have seen like 96 97 98 models with painted door molding. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to put newer year model molding and got it to work without having to do much fabricating.

Also does anyone know where to buy molding other than the thin jdm stuff they sell all over ebay without having to pay a ton for it? Something like the stock stuff that comes on the car.

I dont think that other gen trim is going to fit. BUT I do know that all you have to do is PAINT your existing trim to match the body color and there it is. My old EJ6 was an LX and the trim, license plate cap, and mirrors were not painted from factory. I bought it used with a fender bender on its history with a full respray. the body shop painted all the black pieces too, sans the skirts. It looked WAY better IMHO..

they were not painted from the factory.
no other gen will fit on your car
there is an aftermarket trim that is more "plastic" than rubber and holds paint better.
the jdm molding is much thinner and sits flush with the body.
hope it helps =)

Where do you guys find it? Ive looked on ebay and all I can find it for is the door models or the 3 door hatchback. I have emailed some of the sellers to see if they also sell anything for the coupe but none of them has. The only kind I have ran across for my car was like 200 bucks. Does anyone know where to find it any cheaper?

what style are you looking for? if you want the thin molding look at password jdm, icb motorsports or any other jdm specialty site. if you have a coupe your molding is the same as the hatch. you can try honda direct and see what they can do. try tom. he is a honda parts rep, though i dont know if he is still helping the site in that manor anymore he can help you out

Im just looking to get some moldings. I really dont care if they are thin or regular. I would like to get the thins if but right now I have no preference. I bought the car without the moldings and I am really tired of looking at the little holes in the side of my car. Plus I dont want any rust to form from being exposed to anything. The main reason I was asking this was because I was checkin on ebay to see if I could come across a good deal and all I could find were 4dr or hatch moldings and when I would email them on the hatch to make sure it would fit the coupes they all kept saying no they werent the same. I thought they would be but I wanted to make sure of this before I go and buy anything.
