I need some suggestions for a simple alarm..I dont need all these back up sirens, extra batteries, perimeter sensors, etc..I just want one that WONT FALSE, and will got off if windows get broken or if someone REALLY tries to get in..I dont want an alarm that if you fart near it will go off like every alram out there...thanks...no dissrespect to people that have all that, I just dont need all that....my brothers car has gotten broken into twice infront of his house and we need something to just make some noise so he will wake up or at least scare the thieves....the keep breaking in by shattering the drivers side window.....thanks

Any alarm can falsely go off, sorry. You can adjust the sensitivity on them, but I prefer to have mine go off too much rather than not enough. It went off twice today because of an obnoxious truck (the same truck) driving too fast down my alley. Yes, my heart felt like it had stopped as I flew down the stairs to make sure that my car wasn't touched, but like I said, I'd rather be alerted to a false alarm than miss someone breaking in quietly. My car was once 'broken into' by the person simply destroying my weather stripping and pulling the window down. That was before I got the alarm, so I'm not sure if it would have been set off then or not, but I'm thinking it may not have gone off, depending how forceful they were. i got my alarm on ebay, and yeah it came with the extra junk, but I just chose not to have it all installed. Autozone has basic alarms for about $99 if that's what you want, but you will get false alarms with every alarm. Just don't set it very sensitive to minimize them. Sorry to ramble, but I'm passionate about this as my car seems to be a target.

dont go cheap on a alarm if you have a honda.. i rather try to make it safe as possible.. get a compustar.. they got the best range. theives can cut the siren wire or take the unplug the battery within seconds after your alarm goes off, so if your at a store or not even near your car.. most likely no one around will see or care that a car alarm went off only for a couple of seconds..then you can say bye to your parts or even your whole car. spend the extra money for a good alarm for peace of mind..

I never said cheap...I said simple....and sorry, but you can have the most complex alarrm and if someone really knows what they are doing, they will get your car no matter how complex you alarm is...I just need something that will deter some thieves

I have a Compustar. Not like I need it, I just wanted a remote starter for a 5-speed. 2w900FMR is the model I got. I got it brand new off Ebay for about $220 shipped. I installed it myself. I like the Compustar because it's a 2-way system that will page you when the alarm is tripped, and it let's you know when it's remote started =). Great range too!
