Single DIN block off plate or pocket?

Hey, everyone, I just got my lower audio console today and installed it. It came with one single DIN pocket. I do not want to relocate my head unit down to the lower console because I am slightly lazy and I don't want to take the time, and because I think that it would clutter up the lower console. I was looking to buy the Honda single DIN block-off plate or a single DIN pocket. I have also seen an Accord single DIN flip-down pocket retrofitted there. Click link below.

Look at BERT-Os install. I have kept looking to see if he added how he did it, but no luck. Plus, the thread is really old.

I was wondering which one I should do. Also, does the block off plate snap in the location or what? What kind of retrofit would I have to do to put in the Accord flip-down pocket?

I have the DIN Block off plate with that console. If I were you I could get the single Block off plate because the DIN one is a pain in the butt. You have to get it just right for it to stay in.

How does it stay in? Does it snap in or is it held on by screws or something? It looks like it snaps, but there is nothing that it would snap into in the lower console.

It does snap in but you have to find the right way to snap it in or else it just falls out. well that is what happens to me. when you get it to snap in then.... it is in there. i would rather move my radio to the audio console and get a single block off plate.

Are there 2 kinds of block off plate? You keep talking about a single block of plate and a DIN block off plate. As far as I know, there is only one DIN block off plate (the size of a standard radio). They do however make a double DIN block off plate (this is for the 6th Gen Civics, I believe).

Also, where do you have your radio? Pics maybe if you have them too?

Sorry to hijack this, but where can you get that lower console?
I got mine from eBay from a Honda distributer. Password JDM carries them too, except they are like $180 from them. I paid $120 including shipping. Be sure to get the right color though, and the USDM one not JDM (unless you have a RHD Civic---there is a slight bump on the passenger side that would rub your leg like crazy). Hope this helps.

Now, bump back to OP.

I rarely used my cup holders, plus, they sucked anyways. They never held a dang thing and when I did use them, my cups would always spill when I turned a corner to sharply. I still have my old one, if you are interested.

As of right now

When i had my cup holders/tray

I have the same GPS unit and it is installed in the same exact spot!

In the first picture I can see that you put your fog light switch next to your rear defroster and put in the coin pocket on the left side of the steering wheel. My question is, what did you do with the dimmer switch on the other side? Did you take it out? Do you need it?
