new question...i had a skunk2 intake manifold installed in my civic this weekend and had the hondata gasket replace my stock gasket. now when i got home from church sunday morning, i come to find out that coolant is leaking from my engine whenever i shut it down and i couldn't figure out where it's coming from. i found a medium size hose that's supposed to be hooked up to the manifold loose so i tightened it up and pushed it in...it was possibly one of the problems causing the coolant leak because the clamp tigtening it down was hard to push in because it didn't have enough clearance due to the custom manifold. finally got that fixed and now, it's still leaking coolant, but not as much as before. i took it to pepboys (because i'm away from home right now, like 3 hrs away, and i won't go back home till this weekend) and had it looked at and now...i'm not sure if i have this right but i think the guy told me that coolant was sipping out from the hondata gasket? or atleast it has something to do with the coolant leak.
now is this pretty bad coz i have to drive 3 hrs on friday to go back home and i don't want to blow my motor driving it. the coolant doesn't actually start leaking until i turn my engine off...and i also don't want to have the coolant get inside my engine if i drive it 3 hours long.
has anybody had this same problem with the skunk2 manifold and hondata gasket (d16y8 engine)? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
