Sliding Driver Floor Mat

Hey guys, my 98 civic's driver-side floor mat keeps sliding forward and on top of my gas pedal which is a big problem! I read that there was a recall for the floor mat in 99 where they hook the floor mat onto the floor itself. When I called my local dealership, however, they didn't have the parts available. My question is how can I secure the floor mat to the floor itself? I read about using rivets and buttons and such but I don't know how durable this set up is. Any help would be awesome! thanks!

You can see the hook here. If you get new OEM mats they should come with the hook. If you don't need new mats, something like velcro should do the trick.

thanks for the help guys. ill try the velcro route and hopefully the adhesive will stick to the carpet!

^that diy is for the 5th gen civic, but it's the same concept. i know the floormats in my 98 civic have the hole for it.
