Some Advice on my 96 please?

so last week my 96 lx broke on me. it has the d16y7. its burning massive amounts of oil so i m thinking the rings are bad. if so should i just rebuild the engine or swap in a different one? everyone tells me that a different engine is best to swap in. H23,K20 B18a1, B16...ect everybody tells me different.. I am kinda new to hondas and need some advice. I dont have a huge budget and im trying to get a good value but more importantly a dependable car. Thanks in advance.

They cheapest swap you will find is a b18a1 unless you know someone who can get you a deal, your looking at over 1 grand for a b swap. If you dont have money for this just swap in a d16z6 or d16y8 they will give you 15 or more hp over the stock d16y7 thats in the car now
