yeah, i just put it on auto and took the pics, i didnt feel like messing with too many settings... they were long shutter speeds, so the aperture and shutter speed leveled each other out, i just probably would have gotten some different results with different settings... maybe next time i'll play around with that.

if use a larger aperture (smaller number, btw) and lower the exposition a bit the lights look really sweet... as would using some filters (polarizer, star filter, etc)

all in all, very nice shots =) what digi do u have? play around with aperture and exposure, and learn about depth of field =) a tiny little knowledge creates impressive results. when i'm taking serious pics i never use auto mode, always manual.. and i know VERY VERY LITTLE about digital photography or photography in general

i actually know a bit about photography, i've taken photo 1 in high school, taking photo 2 now. i just didnt feel like taking a lot of time. im using a canon powershot g3 camera, its my moms, so i just have to play around with it. just as im typing this i found the manual focus on the camera, and i dont like it. i wanted to get some longer exposure times with some blurred background motion, i just didnt get anything good out of it, the cars moving by on the road behind the car were moving way too fast.

to blur the background you use a smaller aperture.

thats not exactly what i meant. I wanted to have some motion in the background, like a person walking that would be blurred due to long exposure times. the rest of the background would be in focus. but either way, a blurred background is pretty cool.

ah i see... just make sure u have a tripod and set your aperture and exposure to get enough light and focus.

what ISO do u usually shoot at? i try to avoid going over 150

i used a tripod for every one of those pictures, except the ones that are on the ground, but those the camera was sitting on the ground, so either way it wasnt moving.

I had the ISO set on auto, but i could change it to anything from 50-400 i believe.

lol nice quote... sometimes i feel like i have too much willingness to help people, that i sometimes come out as an a*****e, such as when i mention things and they're pretty basic, it's not because i find that person to be an idiot or unknowledgeable, i just have no reference as to how much knowledge that person has already...
