Hey guys, just got some new speakers,

Pioneer TS-A1682R
Pioneer TS-A6982R

And it says they can handle 2-50 watts RMS, with peak power at 280(6.5),450(6x9)

I was wondering if that was the constant RMS it took and the peak power RMS??

Also i was wondering, say I mixed an aftermarket radio with constant 18 RMS with a 4 channel amp
at 40x4 RMS, would i basically be able to combine those, making it 58 RMS???

ALso, would that push it to its potential?
ANd if I were to get a 4 channel amp, Is there anything i would want on the deck: pre-outs of 4??(im confused about this part) and i might plan to also get a mono amp hooked up to a sub later on so i want some room for expansion.

Answers for there would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!

Well, if all the speakers push 50 RMS (dont look at peak, that number is meaningless) and you get a 4 channel amp that does 40 RMS x 4, thats good. Also, you cant add it like that. But dont' worry like I said 40 RMS will sound fine. And your deck should have four RCA outputs (two front, two rear). If not, you'd have to split the two coming from it, but then you woudlnt be able to set different levels of sound to the front and rear. I'd get a new deck if that was the case and you have money for it.

=) good luck with the install

ISnt this amp a bit overpowered???

My system cant even handle 75 watts constant RMS
And about the deck, It ONLY has an ipod control, but i have a RIO ( you have prob never heard of), but its an mp3 player (not and ipod tho)

you ALWAYS wanna have a little headroom..just adjust the gain until you hear distortion and you'll be fine..about the rio..just use a rca to 3.5 cable and use the aux on the headunit
